“Inspire me,” I said to the muse. “Help me finish my metanovel. And make it really good.”

“Give me a copy of what you’ve written so far,” said the muse. “I have to have context. If I inspire you out of context my inspiration might suck.”

“Sure,” I said. “Do you want me to include this chapter?”

“Sure,” she said. “End it, and give the whole package to me.”

“When will you read it?” I asked.

“I’ll be done by Chapter 17,” She promised. “I’m a fast reader.”
